Pastor Thomas Shelton

Pastor Thomas Shelton serves as First Vice-President of the Concerned Clergy Coalition. He is the Founder & Pastor of a newly organized Ministry, Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City. Prior to organizing Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in 2015, he served as the Assistant Pastor at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under Rev. Fate White, Jr.

Pastor Shelton retired from the Kansas City, Missouri School District where he served in various capacities over a period of 26 years. During his tenure, he served as a Teacher, Coach and lastly, Vice-Principal while holding numerous leadership positions. Prior to that, Pastor Shelton served as a Kansas City Police Officer for 12 years. At the age of 18, he served in the Air Force/Air Force Reserves for 22 years retiring as a Master Sergeant.

Originally enrolled in Western Baptist College, he left to finish his B.A. Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He later enrolled in Central Baptist Theological Seminary majoring in Church History and Missions finishing with a Masters in Divinity Degree.

Past Affiliations include:

  • Pastor, Ward Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri
  • Helped to organize the Northside Ministerial Alliance & served as the First President
  • Third Vice-Moderator for the Central District

Pastor Shelton currently serves as the President of the Congress of Christian Education of the Midwest District and is a member of the Midwest District Ministers Union. He is married; has three children and three grandchildren.
